Sugarloaf Pineapple Patch

The World Botanical Gardens has about I acre of sugarloaf pineapple, the extra-sweet. non-sour variety of pineapple. This patch will be expanded to about 3 acres over time. The 1998 harvest should produce about 3000 pineapples, which will ripen over a one month period, yielding about 100 pineapples per day.
