Main Phylogenetic Garden

We have planted the Conifers, Cycads, Palms, Heliconias, and Rose sections of the Garden. The flowering plants are divided into two main groups, the Monocots (Palms, Grasses, Lilies, Orchids, etc.) and the Dicots. We have also planted Zingibers (Heliconias, Costas, Bananas, etc.), and we have started planting the Monocots. We have acquired some unusual trees, including the Cannonball Tree (with seed pods the shape and size of cannonballs growing from the main trunk), the Baobab Tree (native to Africa), the Elephant Tree (a legume tree which develops an immense trunk diameter), the Sausage Tree (its fruit looks like a 2 foot sausage.)
